The Blues are at the 3rd spot in the Premier League, going into the November international break. Chelsea are currently trailing by 4 points behind defending champions Man City and 9 by the table toppers Liverpool. Overall, Chelsea are playing good football so far under new manager Enzo Maresca.
However, the Blues would not love to lose some valuable points any more as the season progresses. And to make that happen, the players will need to stay fit and healthy on the pitch. That is why, Chelsea have been very conservative about their players travelling to represent their nations. As per the reports of Football.London , Chelsea have ruled out the departures of 4 important starting xi players to avoid any injury risks.
Who are those 4 Chelsea players to stay and rest at London
Malo Gusto :
The French Football Federation confirmed the withdrawal of Chelsea defender Malo Gusto from the French u-21 side on Tuesday. He will be travelling back to London ahead of the weekend after getting checked up by the nationals medical staff.
It is expected that, the Frenchman is still facing thigh problems. As he had already withdrew his name in September from the u-21 side for that reason. We will be hoping for a speedy recovery of the defender.
Cole Palmer & Levi Colwill :
Both the Maresca favorites Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill have withdrew their name from the Three Lions squad. Palmer wasn’t even fully fit in the first place against Arsenal last weekend, but was forced to play the full 90 minutes.
Whereas, Colwill is facing some muscle cramps and will like to rest a bit to prepare for the big month of football coming ahead of them. The duo will return to London this week and train with the non-called up players.
Wesley Fofana :
Another important Blues player Wesley Fofana is very likely to miss out the international break with France due to minor muscle injuries. After the Arsenal game it was rumored that the Frenchman is going to stay at London for rehab.
