Darwin Nunez appears as if it will be the end of the line for him at Liverpool. Recent Spanish reports have suggested he has reached a verbal agreement to join Atletico Madrid this summer. The Uruguayan has faced difficulty in finding regular minutes under Arne Slot this season. He only got eight Premier League starts so far this campaign.
The Reds have identified that they are ready to move on from the 25-year-old. But, may face challenges in recovering the full £85 million they paid to Benfica in 2022.
As per Cadena SER, Atletico Madrid have already made verbal contact with Nunez. Also, the player has made it clear that he’s keen on a move to Madrid. Meanwhile, personal terms are reportedly sorted as well. Atletico now need to agree on a transfer fee with the PL side to seal the deal.

For now, he La Liga side are the frontrunners. But, Napoli and clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also shown strong interest in signing Nunez. Despite his poor spell at Anfield, the striker’s potential still attracts top-level sides.
