Aaron Ramsdale struggles after leaving Arsenal.

Recent updates on former Arsenal Goalkeeper (Aaron Ramsdale), as Southampton were defeated against Bournemouth by 3-1.

Ramsdale’s message:

The former Gunner’s keeper looked very frustrated by his Southampton teammates as he lost the match against Bournemouth.

Right after the defeat he wrote about it on Instagram, stating “We didn’t show enough fight and character in the first half which is disappointing after the support you have given us! Only way out is by working! Thank you to both sets of fans for the reception it means so much to myself.”

Bournemouth defeated Southampton at their home. During the first half, Bournemouth were already leading by 3-0. Dango Ouattara, Evanilson and Antoine Semenyo scored three goals in the first half. In the second half, former Manchester City player Taylor Harwood-Bellis scored one goal for Southampton to try to put them back in the game. Ramsdale was very unhappy with the first goal of Evanilson. His frustration grew stronger after conceding the other two goals. Bournemouth had a free-kick in the first half. The free-kick was taken quickly as the Southampton defence was left open. This made Evanilson score the first goal against the former Arsenal goalkeeper. After this goal Ramsdale showed his frustration to his teammates. The Englishman has conceded 10 goals in 4 games this season with Southampton. Southampton is 19th right now in the Premier League table.

The Ramsdale Transfer

Arsenal received an initial amount of £18 million for Aaron Ramsdale. With the add-ons, the total may reach £25 million. However, if Southampton wins in the relegation battle then the Gunners will receive another £1 million from Southampton. Although, there was an add-on agreement for receiving another £1 million, it is doubtful that Southampton will win the relegation battle. They have grabbed just one point from their last 6 fixtures in the premiere league and have only scored 3 goals. However, Southampton still has 32 fixtures left to climb up the table if they can. The Gunners hope that Southampton will win in the relegation battle so they can receive their £1 million add-on. At the moment, UEFA Champions League is mainly what Arsenal is focused on and how they will manage against the French giants with several injuries.

What’s next for Southampton?

Ramsdale will face his former club at the Emirates on Saturday. Russell Martin’s team are looking to put up a fight and hopefully put a break on Mikel Arteta’s title dreams for some time. Ramsdale admitted that the team is not putting up much of a fight against their opponents and that hard work can change it all.

Russell Martin was very unhappy about the performances as well. He said he expected more from the players. He said that the players were lacking aggression and spirit. “They make 20 fouls to our 10 or whatever it is – I think that sums up the whole game” he said on the Press Conference after the match. The boss said that the players lacked courage, togetherness and spirit. “I didn’t recognise our team. I didn’t like a lot of what I saw, and I was hurt by the lack of spirit and fight. Normally I’m proud of them for the courage they show, but there was no aggression, no courage, no intensity to play.” he said during the press conference.

It all depends on how Southampton will face against Arsenal on Saturday. Russell Martin have to change his tactics to face this Arsenal squad. Although, Arsenal has several injured players, they are still a strong team, but also Southampton can take advantage of Arsenal’s injuries to play against them. Ramsdale expects more hard-work and spirit from his team along with the boss who expects more from his team as well.
