AC Milan and Inter showing interest in Lazio forward Correa

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Inter Milan and AC Milan are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Lazio forward Joaquin Correa as per the report in LAZIONEWS24.com

The forward joined the Serie A side back in 2018 from Sevilla for €15 million. The 26-year-old has flourished at the Stadio Olimpico under Simone Inzaghi, scoring 30 goals and assisting 15 times in 117 appearances in all competitions over the past three campaigns.

Following the departure of manager Inzaghi, the Argentine has been linked with a move away from the Italian capital. However, the forward might not relocate his future this summer, given Lazio’s new manager Maurizio Sarri likes to deploy a 4-3-3 system and the 26-year-old could be an integral part of that system as he can be implemented as the left-winger and also as a centre forward.

Can Milan or Inter sign Correa this summer?

According to the report in LAZIONEWS24.com, Joaquín Correa is willing to find his future away from Lazio. Meanwhile, AC Milan and Inter Milan are keeping tabs on the situation of the Argentina international and the club.

The report further claims that the Rossoneri are looking to sign Isco in this transfer window but the interest from the Nerazzurri is concrete. The former Lazio boss and the current Inter Milan manager wants to bring in Correa to replace Romelu Lukaku and the Eagles have set a €30 million price tag on their forward.

Losing Correa could be a big blow for Lazio. The forward’s versatility to play in the wings, as well as the striker, would have been perfect for Sarri’s system. The winger might not be a prolific goal scorer for the Biancocelesti but he made an excellent partnership alongside Ciro Immobile at the Italian capital.

On the other hand, following the departure of Lukaku, Inter need a replacement for the Belgian. Although the forward will not be an apt replacement for the 28-year-old, Correa has the ability to create chances for his strike partner.

AC Milan are also looking for a versatile winger, following the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu. The 26-year-old can be a good fit for Stefano Pioli’s side on the left-wing spot. However, they need a creative midfielder in this transfer window more than a winger.
