AC Milan are closing in on a deal for Bordeaux ace Adli

AC Milan are reportedly closing in on a deal for Bordeaux midfielder Yacine Adli as per the report in Italian outlet Calciomercato

The midfielder joined the Girondins back in 2019 from Paris Saint-Germain for around €5.5 million. The 21-year-old is in demand in this transfer window, following an impressive outing last term with the Ligue 1 side, scoring two goals and notching up five assists in 35 league appearances.

According to the report in Calciomercato, Milan set to sign Yacine Adli in the next few days from Bordeaux. A deal could be done at around €10 million including bonuses. And the Rossoneri are ready to offer a four-year deal to the youngster.

The report further claims that the Frenchman’s exclusion from the first-team squad against Marseille is a big clue that the transfer is imminent for Stefano Pioli’s side. Following the injury to Franck Kessie, the Rossoneri management have accelerated the transfer for a new midfielder.

On Saturday Bordeaux president Gerard Lopez disclosed regarding the Adli to Milan situation and said that there are plenty of interests for their youngster and nothing finalized yet and they are happy to keep the midfielder. He said:

“Adli at Milan? There is interest from all sides. If we agree, it will be considered done. Otherwise, we will be very happy to keep Yacine.”

What can Milan fans expect from Adli?

Following the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu, the Rossoneri need a new midfielder. Adli could be a perfect addition to the midfield disposal of Milan. Following the muscle injury to Kessie in the pre-season, the requirement for a new midfielder has become an absolute necessity for Pioli.

The versatile youngster can play different roles in midfield. He can be deployed as an attacking midfielder as well as a defensive-minded midfielder. The 21-year-old has excellent passing range as well as an eye for long shots.

Milan are looking to create a strong team with the right balance of youth and experience. They have bought plenty of youngsters over the past few years. And the Rossoneri have witnessed the result by finishing in the Champions League spot after almost a decade. Adli will be a very good addition for Milan and he could develop under the guidance of Stefano Pioli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the San Siro stadium.
