AC Milan closing in on deal with Santos FC’s Kaio Jorge

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan appears to have an agreement with the representatives of Kaio Jorge. The player is keen on making a move to Europe and is pushing for the deal. However, it all comes down to the agreement between the clubs. Santos rate their player pretty high and will not let the deal slip away easily.

Jorge made his debut for Santos at the age of 16. That feat made him the 6th youngest player to represent the club. He has been with Santos FC since he was 10. In January 2019, he signed his first professional contract with the club. The lengthy negotiations ended with a 3 year deal which will be complete by the end of this year.

AC Milan have been very busy this transfer window. They have scouted every corner for the world searching for the best players and securing the best deals. The coveted Scudetto went into the hands of the other Milan side mainly on account of AC Milan’s poor squad depth.

AC Milan will be perfect for Jorge

While any move to a big club benefits a young player, AC Milan seems custom-made for Kaio Jorge. At 182 cm, he is a large presence in the box. His height makes him perfect for Italian football but that’s not all. This season, AC Milan have Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading their attack. Now we’re talking about 2 players who have had a stellar careers by being absolute poachers in the box. Their strengths – strong physic, aerial intelligence, off the ball movements and obviously the experience. AC Milan would be the perfect place for Jorge to hone his skills to become a perfect striker.

Situation of the deal

The Brazilian’s contract will come to an end on December 31, 2021. The player has made it clear that he does not wish to extend his contract and so a move this summer is what would benefit the player as well as the club.

Milan are willing to pay €6 million as opposed to the €10 million Santos wants. The club will not want him to go for free and should ideally come to an agreement with AC Milan.
