AC Milan lining up two-star signings for the summer

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan are reportedly willing to buy two big names from their rivals in the upcoming summer transfer window. Argentine attacking-minded midfielder Rodrigo De Paul and the veteran Slovenian Josip Ilicic from Atalanta.

De Paul has been the main creative man for the Udinese in the last few years. The 26-year-old versatile midfielder has made 32 Serie A appearances for the Friulani. He managed to score and assist eight goals each creating 20 big chances for his side.

However, Ilicic hasn’t been in his scintillating form this season for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side. But, the 33-year-old forward has scored 6 goals and 8 assists in 26 appearances.

The Udinese captain currently has a contract with the club until June 2024. And the 33-year-old Slovenian forward is contracted with Atalanta until June 2022.

Can AC Milan sign the duo to bolster the attack?

According to Mundo Deportivo, AC Milan’ intention is none other than to start this summer with two highly renowned additions, two players who have already accumulated several seasons at the highest level, making a name for themselves in Italian football.

Udinese has always been a very expensive shop and aims as much as possible from the possible sale of its most precious jewel. The price set by the Pozzo family for De Paul is a significant €40 million.

But AC Milan plans to lower the economic outlay by including some young Rossoneri in the deal. At the top of the list is the Norwegian Hauge, but the Rossoneri are also thinking about Pobega and Brescianini.

Milan don’t want to pay anything more than €5 million for the Slovenian as he is already 33-year-old. If the Rossoneri can sign both of them, then there won’t be any doubt that it will be a great business from Milan. De Paul and Ilicic will be perfect for the playing style of Milan coach Stefano Pioli.
