AC Milan moving to secure Parma’s Chaka Traore

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan are trying to sign Serie A teenage sensation Chaka Traore. The youngster does not want to want to continue at Parma and is pushing for a move. Milan are not the only ones after him. Many other Serie A clubs and even Bayer Leverkusen are continuously monitoring the player.

Traore made his senior debut against Lazio in a 2-1 Coppa Italia loss on January 21, 2021. On April 10th, he made his Serie A debut against AC Milan, the club who are behind him. The feat made him the first 2004-born player the make an appearance in the Serie A.

Serie A has a bunch of budding young talents which have caught the eye of many clubs. Last summer, Manchester United paid around €21 million plus €20 million add-ons for Amad Diallo. The Ivorian was just 18 and did not arrive at the club until January because he did not have a work-permit. This shows the keen interest top-clubs across Europe have on young Serie A stars.

Milan has plans for Traore

Traore is just 16 and will not be a part of AC Milan’s first team plans. The Ivorian plans to come up through the much acclaimed Rossoneri academy. He is one of the newest batch of Serie A talents who play the ball closer to the ground. These players may not be the best aerially but make up for it with their technical ability. Leverkusen seems to have an agreement over personal terms but nothing beyond that. Milan could use a counterpart to secure the deal in their favour.

Plans for next season

Milan have player like Isco, Dele Alli on their wish-list, all of them who are proven playmakers of the game. This suggests a different tactical approach, one which would be played more centrally rather than their usual wing play.

Getting a player like Traore is a part of their long-term plan to build a sustainable cycle. The best way to predict the future is to create it.
