AC Milan wants Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan is pushing to sign Los Blancos’ number 11, Marco Asensio for a price of £20 million claiming that negotiations are possible.

Gazzetta Dello Sport has claimed that Marco Asensio is not wanted by Stefano Pioli alone. The club’s director Paolo Maldini has also shown interest in the youngster along with Ricky Massara.

Why AC Milan is interested?

Firstly, Rossoneri’s management is confident that landing a Spaniard who has significant experience in big games can help. Secondly, Asensio is versatile enough to switch from the classic 4-3-3 to Pioli’s 4-2-3-1.

In other words, he can play as a right-wing along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the attack. Asensio is also capable of being an orchestrator behind the wingers and controlling the attack.

The deal’s viability is the last factor. Madrid is left with a year’s deal with Asensio, and they don’t appear eager to extend it, so he’s started to seek elsewhere. Milan might be a very pleasant option.

Real Madrid’s take on Asensio

The player has seen the best years of his career in Spain’s capital. The La Fabbrica product played a major role in Madrid’s Champions League wins.

However, the 26-year-old doesn’t seem to have a place in the team anymore. With Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo occupying the flanks, the Spaniard is subtly forced to leave.

Los Blancos have slapped a €20 million price tag on the wunderkind from Palma and are looking to sell him as soon as his contract expires next year.

Should Milan sign the winger?

Rossoneri is actively participating in the transfer window to sign new players. There have been talks of Hakim Ziyech leaving Chelsea for the 7-time Champions League winners but nothing has happened. In case that transfer happens, Milan fans could expect some serious attack that includes Asensio as well.

The youngster must look for a new challenge in Europe and has seen everything the La Liga has to offer. The Serie A is an active competition with world-class players like Giroud, Zlatan, and Lukaku.

Italy should be an environment for Marco Asensio to rebuild his career and establish a place for himself in the playing XI.
