Al Nassr planning summer move for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz

Al Nassr are reportedly preparing a summer move for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, with contract renewal talks still not in progress.

Al Nassr interest in Luis Diaz as contract talks on hold

Luis Diaz’s name now come up in the ongoing speculation over a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League. He was on the radar for Al Nassr for a long time. The Saudi outfit are showing interest in signing the Liverpool winger this June.

There are only two years remaining on his contract and no talks are progressing. Diaz’s future at Anfield is unclear. Although, the move is not directly linked to the fall-out for Cristiano Ronaldo. It might indicate that Al Nassr are looking to have a squad full of quality players.

The Reds’ winger has been a key player for them since his arrival from Porto. According to The Telegraph, the Saudi club sees Diaz as a big addition regardless of what happens with Ronaldo.

Liverpool’s Transfer Plans Could have an effect on Diaz’s future

As per reports, the PL champions are pursuing Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz. That may affect Diaz’s position in the squad. Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, and also Federico Chiesa all present competition for places along the front line.

Should Wirtz arrive, Diaz could be fighting for game time as well. That may lead to him edging further to the exit door. However, some believe Arne Slot should keep this tight-knit group together. Jurgen Klopp has departed and Slot has arrived with Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving for free. Letting another key player leave is risky. That could lead to further issues in the group.

Nobody is denying the lure of Saudi money. But, Diaz possesses plenty of skills that are effective for the Reds. And most would think keeping him is best for them long term rather than bring in Wirtz.
