Amorim hits back at Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney after he criticized the team and Amorim, according to reports from the Guardian.
Rooney criticised Amorim:
Recently, Wayne Rooney criticized Manchester United and the players a lot. He talked about how bad Ruben Amorim’s system is too. At the same time, he also criticized a lot of players on the team as well. Manchester United are playing horrendous at the moment no doubt. However, they are trying to improve under Amorim. At least some players are. Wayne Rooney talked about how some players need to leave the football club. He said that there is chance to win the FA Cup. That is gone now however, after the loss against Fulham. The Reds are now looking to try and win the Europa League where they are unbeaten at the moment.
Amorim talks about Wayne Rooney criticism:
When asked about Rooney’s comments, Amorim said in an interview that it is the goal. He said that it is being naive if you think that the Reds are going to win the Premier League this season or in the next season where they can be the best contenders. He says that everybody knows everything at this moment. However, the team needs time at the moment. He said it is really easy because he was a pundit when he finished his career and he knew he was really easy. The goals is to win the Premier League. Maybe not with Amorim. However, the goal is to win the Premier League with this club. They need to win the Premier League like they did in the past in the glory days with legends. He also said he is not naive and that is why he is coaching Manchester United at 40 years old at the moment.
Author’s Opinion:
I think Amorim is correct, Wayne Rooney should not interfere with the club’s coach at the moment. Club legends should interfere with club’s business especially when they are out of the club.
