Ansu Fati signs a new long-term contract with Barcelona

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Ansu Fati has agreed on a new six-year deal with Barcelona that will keep Spanish International at the club until 2027.

The 18-year-old was linked with a move away from Camp Nou during the summer transfer window due to the club’s recent financial difficulties. And both Manchester clubs were reportedly lurking to take advantage of this situation and sign the highly-rated forward. But, the Blaugrana have managed to secure the youngster’s future and tie him up with a long-term contract.

La Liga giants earlier confirmed that they have agreed on a new six-year deal with Fati to keep the youngster until 2027. The Spanish giants have included a whopping €1 billion release clause in the forward’s contract.

Barcelona previously secured Pedri’s future as well. They have also included a similar amount of release clause in the young midfielder’s contract.

Ansu Fati to stay in Barcelona until 2027:

Following the departure of Lionel Messi, Barcelona has handed the legendary number 10 shirt to Ansu Fati. With the hope of seeing the youngster becoming one of the best in the world.

The 18-year-old has already shown promise to reach that level but after suffering a long-term injury there is always a question mark as to if he can replicate his old form or not. However, the forward has already scored two goals in three La Liga matches after recovering from a knee problem.

Meanwhile, following a disappointing start to the new campaign, the pressure is building on manager Ronald Koeman. The Blaugrana are currently in danger of relegation to the Europa League as they are currently sitting third in their group.

The situation in the domestic league is not promising either as they are currently sitting in the seventh position. The fixture will not be getting any easier for the struggling Barcelona side. As they will have to face the arch-rival Real Madrid in the next game on Sunday.
