Antonio Cassano believes that Alexis Sanchez is better than Paulo Dybala

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Former Inter Milan striker Antonio Cassano has recently said that the Nerazzurri made a mistake by letting Alexis Sanchez go. The former Italian international believes that the Chilean is a better player than Paulo Dybala. Inter Milan was linked with a move for Paulo Dybala earlier this summer. However, the Argentine international eventually signed for AS Roma.

Antonio Cassano feels that the Nerazzurri should have retained Alexis Sanchez as he is a player with similar qualities to Dybala. The former striker believes the Chilean is better than Dybala as no top clubs wanted Paulo Dybala this summer.

According to the Italian, Paulo Dybala had to settle for minimal wages and a club like AS Roma which finished 6th last season. This shows that the player is not extraordinary in character. Alexis Sanchez would have served the club better than Paulo Dybala in any circumstance as per the former striker.

Lack of interest in Dybala from abroad is also evidence for Antonio Cassano

The former striker in a recent interview while commenting upon the transfer saga surrounding Inter and Dybala said that:

“Inter kept him on standby, and then took Lukaku and told him to find somewhere else. With all due respect, he went to Roma for only €5 million net per season when he was asking for €10 million. He’s not a phenomenon.”

Antonio Cassano further said:

“If he’s a phenomenon then why didn’t any top teams want him, not even Arsenal or Manchester United? Inter were never really interested, they made a big show of it only to then sign Lukaku instead.”

The Italian believes that the lack of interest from clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United shows that Dybala is not a world-class player. The Italian does not think Dybala is a world-class player. Inter Milan did not need the player in the presence of Alexis Sanchez.

Antonio Cassano ended his interview by saying:

“The Nerazzurri let Sanchez leave, who was better than Dybala. Milan preferred to wait two months to sign De Ketelaere, while he moved to a team that finished sixth last season, where he earns wages that are hardly astronomical.”

Nevertheless, Paulo Dybala has eventually signed for AS Roma and the player has started the season well. Jose Mourinho is pleased to have a player of his quality in his squad and believes he can be the player to take AS Roma to greater heights!!
