Antonio Conte recently made unwanted history with Spurs. The team recently made a hat-trick of losses something which wasn’t expected.

The hope of Spurs as well as Antonio Conte of finishing in the top 4 are fading away. Spurs most recently suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Wolves. The first half saw two goals coming from the visitors. This ended up proving to be more than enough for the visitors. With both Raul Jimenez and Leander scoring, Wolves took all 3 home leaving none for Spurs.

This became third in a row for the Italian and Spurs, who have witnessed one of the worst form of their history. Furthermore, in a recent interview he said

“When you lose two games in a row at home and a previous game against Chelsea, a team that wants to fight for the Champions League, [it] is impossible,”

What went wrong for Spurs and Antonio Conte

After the departure of Nuno Espirito Santos from Spurs, came the arrival of Antonio Conte. However, instead of the arrival of atrophy ( finally for Spurs ), they departed from the Carabao Cup after losing to Chelsea.

The honeymoon period for Spurs looks set to be over. Conte has matched the record of a barren run of games without victory with Nuno for Spurs. It’s the first time since the season of 2004-05 that Spurs have created a streak of lost matches.

After the arrival of Conte, Spurs however enjoyed a nine-game unbeaten run. The spot for Champions League was just in their hands when the tragedy of 3 losses struck Spurs. They are now 5 behind the Hammers, although having 5 games in hand could be a game-changer.

Without a doubt, having a manager like Antonio Conte could be a game-changer for Spurs if anything is to happen. However, with the quality that the squad has shown this season, it would need a miracle for the Spurs to come back to Champions League.
