Antony looking to leave Man United in pursuit of regular football

Manchester United signed Antony in 2022 from Ajax for £86 million. Antony came in as a promising youngster. He was highly rated and said to have a bright future at that time. He even scored in his first three matches against Arsenal, Manchester City and Everton. This created a very big hype around him. At that time, no one would have believed that the same Antony will like to leave Man United after two years due to lack of game time. However, the news is true as the Brazilian winger is pushing for a loan move.

Antony scored 3 goals in his first three matches for United. However, he still finished the 2022/23 season with 4 league goals. He was unable to adapt to the Premier League. Later, the 2023/24 season was even worse than his first season. Antony was only able to score a single league goal despite playing in 29 matches. This resulted in him falling down the pecking order. As a result, Antony has only been able to feature for one minute on the pitch this season.

Antony pushing for a loan move away from Man United

According to The Sun, Antony wants to move away from Old Trafford. United are also said to agree the demands as it will help them financially. Antony earns £200,000 per week and is very likely looking to be featuring as a substitute. Red Devils will not like to spend that amount of money on a player who is not trusted by manager.

As per the reports, former Man United manager Jose Mourinho is interested to sign Antony. Mourinho currently manages Turkish club Fenerbahce. The transfer market in Turkey is still open and the chances of a loan deal happening are very high. Antony could be seen on a permanent move away from Red Devils next year. He is currently monitored by his former club Ajax along with some teams in France, Spain and Saudi Arabia.
