Arsenal accepts bid to let “gifted” player leave

Arsenal has reportedly accepted a move for Belgian baller Albert Sambi Lokonga out of the Emirates.

As per reports, Albert Sambi Lokonga has already accepted the terms for Sevilla and is leaving the Premier League. Also, talks are reportedly going over a loan-to-buy deal between the clubs.

If everything goes as planned, the 24-year-old will be heading to Spain to join the likes of Mohamed Elneny, Cedric Soares, Mika Biereth, Arthur Okonkwo, and others. Previously the Belgian was sent on a loan to Luton Town during the 2023/24 season.

Reportedly, a few more players could be sold out by Arsenal on loan or permanent transfer in the upcoming weeks. These include Emile Smith Rowe, Thomas Partey, Aaron Ramsdale, Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Eddie Nketiah and Kieran Tierney.

Earlier this week, reports came out of Arteta planning to sell out Tierney. The latter seems to be not in the plans of Arteta for the future of the Gunners. Meanwhile, Partey is gaining interest from the Saudi Pro League as his final year of the contract starts.

Sporting Director Edu Gasper has been tasked with removing the unwanted names from the squad. The Gunners are preparing for the third consecutive title challenge with Man City this season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal is closing on a deal with Riccardo Calafiori – the Italian defender. The Gunners have reportedly come to a personal agreement with the current Serie A player. Calafiori has hugely impressed in his Euros 2024 run.

The 22-year-old helped Bologna to qualify for the Champions League last term. He can play both as a center-back and left-back. This will affect the likes of Nuno Tavares who will probably go out of order for Arteta now.

Arsenal accepts bid for Nuno Tavares

Last season, Tavares was loaned out to Nottingham Forest where he could only make eight appearances.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have accepted a proposal from Lazio and Tavares seems set to depart the Emirates. Lazio will sign the Portuguese on loan with a future clause to buy the 24-year-old with reportedly £5.8 million-£6.7 million deal.

Now negotiations are going on with Tavares on personal terms. Lazio is conniving Tavares to join the Serie A side. The former Benfica starlet was able to get only 28 appearances with the Gunners since joining the side in 2021 even after Arteta acclaimed him to be a “very gifted player”.

Arteta said this during his debut season with the Gunners: “What you can see, his physicality, he is naturally a very gifted athlete.”

“He can run, and he can change speed and direction, and technically he is very gifted. But, for me, the most important thing is that he is a defender, and he needs to defend first, and then he can provide the rest of his qualities.”
