Arsenal have reached agreement on personal terms and wage demands with one of their top targets. The star will move to North London in the summer.
The star in question here is Arsenal’s long term target Martin Zubimendi. The 25 year old was first linked with a move to Premier League in summer. At that time, Liverpool were believed to be front runners to land him.
However, both Gunners and Reds failed to convince Zubimendi. The 25 year old wanted to stay at Spain and this became the breaking point of the deal. However, the Spaniard is now once again linked with move to England.
Liverpool do have great squad and Arne Slot has found winning formula. They are not desperate to sign any new midfielder. However, the situation is different at North London with Gunners keen to sign quality midfielders.
Jorginho and Thomas Partey will move away from the Emirates at the end of the season on free transfer. This will open up huge space in the squad and Gunners will like to fill it as soon as possible.
Arsenal reach agreement with Martin Zubimendi
Recently, Gunners are reported to have agreed a move for Zubimendi. It is reported that Arteta has convinced the 25 year old to join them. But, Real Sociedad will allow the Spaniard to move away in summer instead of this month.
According to Football Transfer, Gunners have nor reached agreement on personal terms with Zubimendi. They have also reached agreement on huge wage demands of the 25 year old. This is a major step towards landing the Spaniard in summer.
Lastly, Gunners are yet to agree on transfer fee with Sociedad. Zubimendi has €60 million release clause and Sociedad want the interested party to pay it fully. Arsenal have good relationship with Spanish club and it will be key to see if they are able to convince them to lower their demands.
