The summer transfer window will close in less than 48 hours. All of the Premier League clubs are speeding up their process. We are witnessing some unique and surprising moves. Arsenal have finally announced the signing of Mikel Merino. They have also announced the departure of Fabio Vieira on loan to FC Porto. Gunners have started their 2024/25 season with two wins, fours goals scored and two clean sheets in two matches. They are looking strong to lift the Premier League title. In the upcoming two days, Arsenal board is planning to sign some more players. However, it will depend on the departure of existing players as the club needs to balance the financial sheets. Reiss Nelson is one of the players linked with away move to make way for new signings.

Arsenal have announced the departure of Fabio Vieira. Vieira has joined FC Porto on a season long loan. In addition, Eddie Nketiah and Aaron Ramsdale have also left the Emirates and the news will soon be made public by Gunners. Crystal Palace have signed Eddie Nketiah for £25 million plus £5 million as add-ons. On the other hand, Aaron Ramsdale has joined Southampton for £18 million, plus £1 million if he helps Southampton to stay in the Premier League. In addition Gunners will earn £6 million as add-ons. Arsenal are planning to let some more players leave this summer. They have signed three players and are now planning to sign a winger before the end of window.

Reiss Nelson likely to exit Arsenal this summer

Arsenal are planning to sell Nelson before the transfer market closes. They want to sign a new winger and bolster their attack even further. Arsenal already have Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli as wingers. In addition, Kai Havertz can also play as a winger but is expected to play as striker throughout the season. Saka has been unable to receive sufficient rest in the past seasons due to unavailability of proper backup right winger. Hence, Gunners will look to sign right winger who can occasionally help on the left flank too. At this time, Arsenal will mainly focus on finding a temporary solution. However, they will only go after winger if they are able to sell Nelson in the first place according to The Telegraph.

Reiss Nelson is looked upon by Fulham who plan to pair him with Emile Smith-Rowe. Besides Fulham, Leicester City and West Ham are also amongst the interested clubs to sign the Arsenal academy graduate. Nelson has been able to establish himself in the Arsenal squad. He will be looking for more gametime at this stage in his career. Gunners will elevate their financial situation to cope up with the PSR rules with Nelson’s sale. The money earned from his sale will be counted as ‘pure profit’ as Neslon has came from Arsenal academy.

Nelson’s Arsenal career

Reiss Nelson joined Arsenal in 2008 as a 8 year old kid. He impressed the club on different stages and earned his place in the first team. Nelson made his senior debut in 2017 after signing his first professional contract in 2016. Nelson made his debut for Arsenal under their legendary coach Arsene Wenger. However, Nelson was unable to meet the expectations Gunners had from him. He played for Arsenal 90 times and has been able to score 8 goals and provide 9 assists. His best season was 2021/22 when he was on loan to Feyenoord. Nelson scored 4 goals along with providing 7 assists for Feyenoord in 32 matches. Nelson’s best goalscoring season also came when he was on loan to Hoffenheim. Nelson scored 7 goals for Hoffenheim in 2018/19 season. Despite starting only 5 out of 23 league matches, Nelson was able to score 7 goals.
