David has emerged as a promising star due to the numbers he has been achieving. In the past two seasons he has scored 52 goals and picked 11 assists for Lille. This season, Canadian striker has again started on high note. He has already scored 8 goals and picked 2 assists in just 14 matches.
Arsenal and Chelsea receive massive boost in Jonathan David pursuit
Both of the London clubs were once linked with David. Now as per Daily Star, David has decided to not sign a contract extension at Lille. His current contract will expire next summer and top clubs can sign him for free in 2025.
David is interested to play in the Premier League and has spoken very highly about English football. He can fullfill his dreams next summer but Lille are interested to sell him in January. The French side will want to minimize their loss and has interest from Inter Milan, Barcelona and Juventus.
The Blues are very highly linked with Victor Osimhen whereas Gunners are looking to make a move for Benjamin Sesko. Instead, getting a player like Jonathan David and that too for free seems like an impressive business. However, it will very likely depend on what the boards and managers think about the player and wheter the striker fits in their plans.
