Arsenal and Chelsea get huge Nico Williams boost

22-year-old Nico Williams is a hot commodity in the transfer market. The winger was subject to one of the most interesting transfer sagas. But, he chose to continue playing for Athletic Club this summer. Top clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona were keen on signing him. Now, he is still continuing his impressive run of form. As per transfermarkt, he has 48 G/A for Athletic Club. At the same time, he also has a release clause in his contract. So, there is a more than likely chance we can see him moving next summer now.

Nico Williams ‘clarifies’ on future

The 22-year-old went on to speak about his future following a victory in the UEL. The winger was asked whether he would stay beyond the next season at his current club. But, as per goal, he would state that he was happy at Athletic Bilbao. At the same time, he would add that he was impressed with the atmosphere post-game. But, Nico Williams did not answer the question at hand. So, it seems that his intentions are clear. At the same time, he just didn’t want to be disrespectful to his current club, which is totally understandable.

Who will secure a move for the Spaniard?

Well, it is now unlikely that Chelsea move for him. Especially considering that they already have Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix on-board with them. As per Arsenal, they could very well be signing him. Nico Williams could be a great option for them. Meanwhile, Barcelona came closest to signing the 22-year-old. But, finances are a big problem for them. Although, surely, they could use the winger’s services. So, all-in-all, it will be pretty interesting to see who ends up securing a move for the Spaniard. As it stands, the Gunners could be a likelier destination. But, the Blaugrana won’t let go easily either.
