Castro is only 20 years old and has played in under-23 team of Argentina. Bologna signed him last year from Velez Sarsfield. Castro was able to make 65 appearances for the Argentine club and also was able to score 9 goals along with picking 2 assists.
Last season, he was not able to get many chances due to being a backup and very young. Joshua Zirkzee who joined Manchester United this summer was the one playing regularly for the Italian club.
But this season, Castro has claimed his spot as regular starter for Bologna and is doing very well at the top level. He has played 7 Serie A matches and scored 3 goals along with picking up 1 assist.
Premier League giants looking closely at the Argentine sensation
Along with Chelsea and Arsenal, several other English clubs are interested to sign Castro. As per CaughtOffside, Aston Villa, Everton and Nottingham Forrest are in the race along with London clubs.
Chelsea are known for signing the young talents. They have made it their top priority since Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali took over. Over the recent season, we have seen The Blues signing a lot of young talents and handing their long contracts.
On the other hand, Gunners have made striker their top priority for the next year. Signing a young player while Havertz is still able to yield good results, seems like a very good strategy.
As of now, Castro may find joining Arsenal a better option than joining Chelsea. It is mainly due to the high squad number at Chelsea which may not guarantee him enough gametime. But it will also depend on the financial requirements and what Bologna think.
