Arsenal and Chelsea need to empty their pockets for their target

Football

Arsenal and Chelsea are both looking to sign a striker next year and Viktor Gyokeres is one of their many targets. Now, the reports say that the London rivals may have to fulfill one particular demand of Sporting CP to sign the striker who is in hot form.

Arsenal and Chelsea need to pay full price for Viktor Gyokeres

As per TBR Football, Sporting CP will only part ways with Gyokeres only if someone triggers his release clause. His release clause is set at £85 million. But, the demands from Sporting can be justified by looking at the striker’s form.

Last season Gyokeres scored 43 goals and picked 14 assists in just 50 matches. He caught eyes of lot of top clubs. He was being linked with many clubs but his asking price proved too high. Clubs like Man United, PSG, AC Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal were all keen to sign the consistent goalscorer.

Some claimed that Gyokeres can be a one season wonder but the striker has proved them wrong this season. He has been able to find the back of the net 13 times in 13 matched. He has topped it by picking 4 assists in the process.

Gyokeres has made Sporting’s position very strong in sticking with their demands. As of now, there is no reason why the Portugese side lowers their demanded price. This may come as a huge blow for both Chelsea and Arsenal.

Gyokeres will not have a shortage of offers but is expected to stay at Sporting in january. It seems like the player will only consider leaving next summer and the club is confident about it too.

The Blues are also focused on Victor Osimhen who may cost slightly less than Gyokeres. On the other hand Gunners are now heavily linked with Dusan Vlahovic. However, he is not their primary target as they find Benjamin Sesko a perfect fit.
