Arsenal and Chelsea planning to sign Isak on discount

  • Arsenal and Chelsea are both interested to sign Alexander Isak
  • Newcastle United are demanding £115 million for the Sweedish striker
  • Instead, both Gunners and Blues are planning to sign him on discount

Arsenal and Chelsea were both keen to sign a striker this summer. The Blues wanted to sign Victor Osimhen and pushed really hard for him. But, they were unable to agree on price and hence the deal failed.

On the other hand, Gunners wanted to sign Benjamin Sesko. They did make a move for him but Sesko snubbed Arsenal and instead signed a contract extension with RB Leipzig.

Arsenal and Chelsea are now again in market to sign a striker. This time they have turned their heads to Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak who has levelled up since last season.

Arsenal and Chelsea want to sign Isak on discount

Newcastle United are demanding £115 million for Isak. But as per CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Chelsea want to get the deal done at £80 million. Although it still is a lot of money, the both Premier League clubs will feel that they have signed the striker on discount due to his quality and experience.

Isak has a good relationship with Newcastle and hence will respect the club’s choices. But, at the same time he wants to play in Champions League regularly. Hence, very important months are coming up for both Isak and the Magpies.

Other options available

Both clubs do have other options available if deal with Isak fails. Firstly, the Blues are heavily linked with Osimhen once again. They have also shown interest in Viktor Gyokeres who is also looked upon by Arsenal.

Lastly, Gunners have shown interest in Dusan Vlahovic and Mateo Retegui as well. They were also linked with Jonathan David who will be available for free at the end of this season.
