Arsenal and Man City both keen to sign €50 million youngster

Football

Arsenal and Man City are having a great rivalry right now. Their fight has also come down to transfer business. Both of the Premier League giants have a common interest for January transfer market. Their target name is Samuele Ricci who is an Italian midfielder and currently plays for Torino.

Ricci is 23 years old and can play anywhere in the middle. He is selected to play for Italy currently and has already made 4 appearances for them. Ricci has also played more than 150 senior matches and has emerged as a promising youngster.

Ricci plays for Torino who signed him in 2022 from Empoli. Torino director said that Ricci can play for any coach or club. He added that they signed the player when he was young and spent big money on him and hence they trust Ricci.

Ricci is currently looked upon by Man City and Arsenal who both want to strengthen their midfield. Torino want around €50 million for their midfield superstar.

Samuele Ricci to make a move to Premier League

Man City are very much in need of a midfielder after their main man Rodri got injured. Rodri is set to miss the entire season due to serious injury. City view Ricci as the potential replacement for Rodri.

But the problem here is Ricci is uncertain to get a permanent move to City as the club is focused on finding a temporary solution. So, the move will very likely depend on what the both parties think of the current situation.

On the other hand, Gunners are looking for a long term solution to their senior players. Both Thomas Partey and Jorginho are in their final year of current contract. Hence a move to The Emirates will make more sense for Ricci.

Lastly, another problem regarding Ricci’s future is both Arsenal and Man City value him at €30 million as per CaughtOffside. Hence the decision will also depend very much on what Torino think and wheter they are willing to lower their demanded price.
