Arsenal and many big clubs compete to sign Igor Jesus

Arsenal is among the top contenders to sign Brazilian youngster Igor Jesus. The Brazilian is also under the radar of clubs like Chelsea, and Newcastle United.

The 23-year-old has recently made his international debut for Brazil on Friday. Igor debuted as a center forward for his national team in their match against Chile. The qualifying match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is the first match for the youngster.

He also got to score for Brazil against Chile when he headed a cross-in from FC Barcelona’s Raphina. Jesus has played 155 matches since his debut as a player in 2019. The youngster has scored 55 goals and assisted 23 times yet.

Igor has had a pivotal role in the Emirati club Shabab Al Ahli. He was in the said club from 2020 to 2024. The Brazilian has contributed to the team helping them win many trophies. Some of these trophies include the UAE Pro League, UAE Super cups and UAE League Cup. Jesus scored 43 goals and has assisted 20 times for the club.

The youngster joined the Brazilian club Botafogo earlier this year. He is an important part of the club as they are currently leading in the Brazilian league. Botafogo has also qualified and reached the semi-final of Copa Libertadores. Igor is the current top scorer for the club. He has scored 7 goals and one assist in 19 games for the team.

According to the reports of Fichjaes, there are plenty of big teams that are eyeing to sign a deal with the 23-year-old Brazilian. The top contenders are Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea. It would be interesting to see if any of these come to strike a deal with the youngster.

Premier League giants interested in the Brazilian

Igor Jesus and the Brazilian League have grabbed the attention of many big names in the English League. The Forward is valued at a price of 35-40 million euros which is a hefty price for a youngster. This big price tag can currently be afforded by Arsenal. The director of the Arsenal club Edu Gaspar is personally looking out at the progress of Igor Jesus.

The Gunners can really use a dedicated forward in their team. The club’s starter forward Gabriel Jesus has been an underwhelming performer for Arsenal this season. Mikel Arteta and the management will look to reinforce their attacking squad and sign Igor Jesus in 2025.

Chelsea are second in line as they do require a dedicated center forward in their team. The Blues will look to make a deal with Jesus as they could use more depth in their attacking lineup. Enzo Maresca might consider signing the center forward. The Italian manager has helped the Blues set to a flying high in the Premier League.

Newcastle United plot a deal ahead of Arsenal

The sporting director of Newcastle United Paul Mitchell has hinted at the interest in signing Igor Jesus before Arsenal. Magpies are looking to strengthen their attacking setup.

They did not capitalize in the recent summer transfer window. Newcastle will be keen on signing more players in the January transfer window. One player who is heavily linked with his move to St. James Park is Igor Jesus.

The sporting director and Newcastle manager Eddie Howe are planning to beat Arsenal to strike a deal with the Brazilian from Botafogo. This deal will not be cheap for Magpies as the 23-year-old is priced at 35-40 million euros. It is a hefty price tag but Newcastle have no choice but to pay if they want to reinforce their attack.

Callum Wilson who is the current starter striker for Newcastle United is heading towards the exit from the club. His contract is ending with the team which makes space for the upcoming new signings. Igor is in top form and Magpies would look to make a deal with the Brazilian soon because big sharks like Arsenal and Chelsea are eyeing the youngster.
