Arsenal are not involved in talks with their top target’s current club. However, he is still the top name on their radar and the situation can still change in the final days of this window.
The star in question here is Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig. Sesko has been on Arsenal’s radar since last summer. The North London club did all in their powers to sign the 21 year old. But, they were unable to convince the Slovenian striker.
Sesko opted to stay and Leipzig and even signed a contract extension. He increased his stay in Germany until 2029. Gunners then ended the summer window without signing a new striker. However, this approach has costed them on multiple occasions so far.
Gunners have dropped some key points due to not scoring regularly. They have learnt the importance of clinical striker and are now keen to sign one. Originally they would have went after the striker in summer but the situation has made striker signing an urgent matter.
Gabriel Jesus is injured and will miss atleast 9 months. Saka has been already sidelined due to surgery and will miss atleast 2 more months. This has made Mikel Arteta to sign attacking players in the January window itself.
Arsenal not in talks with Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko
Sesko is once again the top name linked with the North London club. Gunners were said to have asked about signing the 21 year old on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. However, Sami Mokbel has reported that they are not in talks with Leipzig at the moment.
Mokel added that Leipzig are unwilling to sell Sesko and Arsenal are showing respect to their stance. However, he said that the situation can change in the final days of window but as of now, Sesko moving to North London this month is very unlikely.
