Arsenal have been told to pay as much as £100 million to sign their top target i. january. Along with Gunners, their rivals Manchester City have also shown interest in the star.
The star in question is West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus. Kudus joined Hammers last season and has been one of the best players for them. He had a very good first season which caught attention of top clubs.
Gunners have been long term admirers of Kudus. He is one of their top targets for the next season. But, they are also joined by other top clubs in the race. Earlier, Liverpool were linked heavily and now City have also shown interest in the 24 year old.
Arsenal need to pay £100 million to sign Kudus in January
Gunners are desperate to sign new attackers next year. Their main plan was to go big in summer window. But, due to injuries the club may be forced to do some key signings in January itself. They already have two players on loan which means they can’t sign another player on loan.
This may result in Gunners making a move for Kudus in January. But, GiveMeSport have reported that Hammers want £100 million for Kudus if any club wants to sign him in January. This may make the 24 year old untouchable for now.
Kudus has a £85 million release clause in his contract. He is tied with West Ham with a contract running until 2028. Hammers do have an option to extend another year but it looks like the 24 year old is very likely to exit next year. Hammers will demand his release clause to be paid fully.
Arsenal are unlikely to make such a big signing at mid-season. But, the club can take bold decision due to the current situation as it is nearly impossible for them to win the Premier League title with current squad.
