Arsenal target hands them major boost in the race

One Arsenal targets has handed the Gunners with a major boost in the race. But, it is still very unlikely that the deal can happen this month.

The star in question here is long term Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko. The 21 year old was heavily linked with a move to Premier League in summer. Gunners did all they can to secure his signature but were unable to convince him.

The deal failed and istead of joining Gunners, Sesko signed a contract extension with Leipzig. He extended his stay in Germany until 2029. The failure to complete this deal forced Arsenal to end the window without signing striker.

However, Arsenal’s approach of not signing striker has clearly backfired at them. They have been tested on multiple occasions and have been lacking firepower in final third. In addition, they are moving away from securing league title.

Due to the current injury crisis, the North London club are forced to enter the market for striker in the middle of the season. As for striker, Sesko is still their top target and the 21 year old himself has handed Gunners with major boost.

Arsenal handed major boost in the pursuit of Sesko

According to talkSPORT, Sesko would prefer a move to Arsenal instead of Chelsea or Man United. The Blues have Sesko on radar along with Liam Delap. On the other hand, United have multiple strikers on their wishlist.

This will come as a major boost for the North London club. Sesko can cost as much as £70 million but Gunners need to wait until summer to get the deal done. Leipzig are unwilling to part ways with the 21 year old this month as he is impossible to replace in the middle of the season.

On the other hand, Newcastle are planning to offer Alexander Isak new contract. They are very happy with Swedish striker who has again been unstoppable this season. There is a very high possibility of Arsenal missing out on Isak.
