Latest reports suggest that the Calafiori deal has almost reached an agreement on a personal level with Arsenal.
Arsenal announced their fresh signing by permanently confirming Swiss goalkeeper David Raya in the Emirates. Arteta bought The latter on loan last year from Brentford with a permanent transfer clause. Now the Gunners have completed the permanent transfer of Raya to the side.
This marked the completion of the second official signing of Arsenal this summer. The earlier one was the another keeper Lucas Nygaard who joined North London last month after coming from Nordsjaelland.
Nevertheless, the Euros and Copa America are both reaching the Semi-Finals stage now so the transfer market is bound to become more active.

Calafiori agreement reached with Arsenal
Reports suggest that Arsenal have reached an agreement with Calafiori on personal terms. The contract length is said to be five years long as per reports.
However, the Gunners are yet to reach a complete agreement with Bologna regarding the transfer of Calafiori according to reports. As per Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A club is demanding £42million for their center-back. The deal is yet to be completed between the clubs.
It is believed that the 50% sell-on fee Basel is due for any sale above £4million. This clause might be complicating the process as of now. Moreover, the Swiss club bought the defender from Roma for £3million.
According to Football.london:
“Arsenal appear to have asserted themselves as the frontrunners to sign Calafiori ahead of interest from Chelsea. The player impressed for Italy during the European Championship at centre-back but has played even more often as a left-back domestically.
“That may be where Mikel Arteta sees the defender starting alongside Gabriel Magalhaes. Doing so would give Arsenal an imperious backline of four 6ft-plus, with both full-backs capable of covering centrally. Compared to Ben White, Calafiori has played much more regularly at full-back, even debuting for Italy under Luciano Spaletti in that position earlier this summer before the tournament.
Zirkzee eyeing United move
Reports suggest, that Joshua Zirkzee is not interested in any talks with Arsenal. The Netherlands national player is eying a move to Man United this summer. Although the earlier rumors linked the Dutch forward with the Gunners, the latest reports state otherwise. United is clearly leading the race in signing Zirkzee.
As per CaughtOffisde, United has already agreed with the player on personal terms. Now, The Red Devils only need to sign the £34million release clause for Zirkzee. AC Milan also tried to sign the forward as they tried to negotiate the terms with Bologna. However, the talks didn’t progress much further with the Serie A side now looking at other options.
Nevertheless, the option of signing Zirkzee looked like an opportunistic move by Arsenal from the start. It is quite a possibility that the Arteta-led side only looked at the Dutch player as a side option. From the start of the summer, Benjamin Šeško has looked as their top target.
As per Football.london:
Arsenal’s apparent interest in Zirkzee always appeared opportunistic rather than because the forward is one of their top targets. The club had Benjamin Sesko at the top of their list earlier this summer and have a similarly long-standing interest in Alexander Isak.
“Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen have also been linked, with the Sporting striker someone the club have considered after scouting last summer. All of those options would cost at least double what Zirkzee goes for from Bologna, and the club will seemingly not skimp if they sign a striker despite it not being their priority this year.”
