Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all keen to improve their attack next year. They are all plotting moves ahead of the January transfer window. Now, Christantus Uche has emerged as a common target for all of the three Premier League giants.
Who is Christantus Uche?
Uche is 21 year old Nigerian player who plays for Getafe. He joined the Spanish club this summer and has played in all 14 La Liga matches. In addition, he has started 13 of those.
Uche can play as a winger, a striker and even as an attacking midfielder. He is equally effective in all those positions which has made him a key asset for Getafe this term.
Uche is tied to Getafe with a contract running until 2028 with an option to extend 1 more year. He has a €25 million release clause which will be activated from January 2025. This has resulted in many clubs luring around the Nigerian talent.
Is Uche headed to Premier League?
As per Fichajes, three Premier League have shown interest in Uche currently. Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham will all like to add a player like Uche to their squad. But they will also have to convince the player to join their project.
Gunners can use Uche’s versatility to rotate their current stars. The Nigerian can even compete for the starting position and establish himself as regular starter in near future.
Chelsea actually have a lot of attacking options at the moment. But some names like Nkunku and Mudryk are very heavily linked with an exit. This may need some new additions and Uche fits in the Chelsea’s project of hiring young players.
Lastly, Tottenham have developed a good squad in recent years. But there is still a room for improvement. Uche can become a long term solution and has best chance to play regularly at Spurs as compared to Gunners and the Blues.
