Arsenal extremely busy in convincing world-class star to join them

Arsenal are extremely busy in trying to convince a world-class star to join in summer. They are joined by several other clubs but North London club have him as the priority target.

The star in question here is Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich. The German international has been key player for Bayern since 2015 when he first joined them. He has since helped the club win multiple trophies along with Champions League.

Kimmich has played as both holding midfielder and right-back for Bayern. He has also cemented his position as regular starter for Germany. However, his days at Allianz Arena seem to be approach end as he is linked with an away move in the summer window.

Kimmich will be out of contract at the end of the season. Bayern are willing to offer him new contract but are not offering pay-rise. This has resulted Kimmich in opting to leave the club as free agent and hence has attracted interest from multiple top clubs.

Arsenal keen to land Joshua Kimmich this summer

Gunners have been linked with Kimmich since his talks with Bayern over new contract started to fall. They want a new holding midfielder as both Thomas Partey and Jorginho are set to leave this summer as free agent.

Football Insider have reported that Arsenal are working hard to land Kimmich this summer. The report adds that they are already in talks with the player’s representatives over a summer deal. But, they are joined by multiple clubs and the chances of Kimmich still extending his contract can’t be ignored yet too.

Arsenal also have sights on Martin Zubimendi but he will cost them €60 million. Instead, Kimmich can be signed for free which will allow Gunners to focus on other positions like striker and winger. It will be interesting to see what decision Mikel Arteta takes.
