Arsenal handed major blow ahead of summer transfer window

Arsenal have received a major blow ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. The fans will be surprised after hearing the news and but we can all still expect a very busy and big summer window from Gunners.

The North London club had very quiet January transfer window. They failed to make any new signing despite being in massive need to do so. But, this sparked the rumours that they will rather spend big on proper players instead of finding temporary solutions.

As of now, Gunners are set to sign striker, winger, midfielder and a goalkeeper. They have a very good squad depth in defense. Striker will be their top priority and several names have been linked with the club. As of now, Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko are their top targets.

Gunners are leading the race to sign Martin Zubimendi this summer. In addition, they are also in pole position to land Sverre Nypan which will complete their midfield departments. Lastly, they are very likely to sign Joan Garcia as backup keeper.

As mentioned above, Isak is the top striker priority of the club. He has proved himself in Premier League in recent season. In addition, he is one of the best strikers in the world right now. Newcastle United are not willing to sell him but they may be forced to do so.

The Magpies will allow Isak to leave if they fail to qualify for UCL. This came as a big boost from interested clubs like Arsenal. But as per Mirror Football, the Magpies will demand as high as £150 million for Isak. This will be a British record fee.

The report adds that Newcastle are unwilling to leg Isak go below £150 million. In addition, even that amount might not be enough to lure Sweden striker away from the Magpies. Hence, it will come as a massive blow for Arsenal.

Gunners do have other options available in the market. They may now focus on landing Benjamin Sesko. Sesko is lot younger than Isak and will cost a lot less than the Sweden international.
