Arsenal have been handed a major boost in the pursuit of their top target. The player himself has handed the boost as he prefers to join them over any other clubs.
The Gunners target in question here is Matheus Cunha of Wolves. The Brazilian forward is having a superb season and is the backbone of Wolves. Despite the club struggling and finding them in relegation zone, Cunha has been world-class.
The 25 year old has scored 10 goals and picked 4 assists so far in Premier League. Wolves are keen to keep Cunha and have offered him contract extension. But, the player has still not signed the extension and is currently looked upon by many clubs.
Arsenal handed major boost in the pursuit of Cunha
Gunners have been long term admirers of Cunha. They are said to be frontrunners in the race to land him but are joined by other top clubs like Chelsea, Man United, Spurs and Tottenham. Teamtalk have reported that Cunha is ready to reject all these clubs in order to join Arsenal.
This will come as a major boost for the North London club who are desperate to sign some attacking players. But, Wolves will try to make the pursuit of Brazilian as hard as possible. Earlier, it was said that they are demanding around £80 million for the 25 year old.
Cunha will be a great addition to the Arsenal squad. He is highly versatile and can play as left winger, attacking midfielder and striker. This will make him a key asset under Mikel Arteta who is in need of more firepower in final third.
The North London club has only a week left to land Cunha or else they might have to wait until summer. Wolves will find it impossible to keep hold of Cunha in summer if they get relegated.
