About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Sassuolo have confirmed that Arsenal have officially bid for Manuel Locatelli. The Italian has been linked to many clubs in and outside Italy. This transfer window has had many big-shifters and Locatelli might be another one in the line. His amazing run at the Euros is another factor that increase his possible futures.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Locatelli scored 4 times and provided 3 assists for Sassuolo last season. His consistent performances sealed his place in the Italian starting 11. He has been remarkable for Italy at the Euros scoring a brace in their 3-0 victory Switzerland.

Mikel Arteta has been trying to bring back the good days at the Emirates where every move matters. They did win the FA Cup and the Community Shield last year but that’s not the level of the only team in Premier League history who have gone unbeaten for an entire season.

Arsenal not alone for Locatelli

A towering presence in the midfield, Locatelli is a piece that would fit any puzzle. He can play defensive, support the wings and even have a go at the goal. His first goal against Switzerland showed his relentless involvement in the attack. Thus, Arsenal are not the only ones behind him.

Juventus have already expressed their desire to sign him. Rumours have claimed that Locatelli is likely to sign for Juventus after the Euros. Juventus are looking to strengthen their midfield after a tough year. Coach Maximiliano Allergri has named Locatelli as his first priority.

Contract with Sassuolo

Locatelli has a contract that runs for 2 more years which means Arsenal will have conjure a good sum. Manchester United have already got the deal ready for Jadon Sancho. Manchester City are all ready to get Jack Grealish’s signature at the end of the tournament. Maybe, it’s time for Arsenal to pick up some pace if they do not want to end up outside Europe next season.
