According to several reports, Arsenal have not given up on the dream of signing Alexander Isak. The gunners were keeping tabs on the youngster since June as they thought of bringing him this summer. But the plan failed as Alexander Isak choose to stay at Real Sociedad declining the transfer rumours.

The youngster signed for Real Sociedad back in 2019 from Borussia Dortmund. Isak was a player full of potential but struggled to get time for the German side. Following which he was sent on a short-term loan to Willem II, where he scored 13 goals in 16 appearances. And seeing that Real Sociedad approached Dortmund in the 2019 summer transfer market.

In Isak’s first season with La Real, he appeared 45 times scoring 16 goals in all competitions. However, it was his second season that made some top clubs turned their heads towards him. Playing for Sociedad in the 2020/21 season, he scored 17 goals in 34 La Liga games and was among the tops six scorers.

Following that clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal started taking interest in him for a transfer. Among those, Arsenal were the most interested one to sign Alexander Isak.

The reason was Alexandre Lacazette’s last year on Arsenal contract. And Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s falling form in the up-front. Following this, the gunners needed a forward reinforcement this summer.

And Arsenal targeted Alexander Isak for that reason but failed, at last, to bring him to the club. The Swedish youngster was not interested in a move as he preferred to stay at Real Sociedad.

While Isak has also signed a new contract with la real until staying until 2026 with a release clause of €77 million. However despite that Arsenal have not given up on signing Alexander Isak, as they may try next summer.
