Arsenal are holding very strong interest in 2 holding midfielders. They can make moves in the summer transfer window to replace both Thomas Partey and Jorginho.
Thomas Partey and Jorginho are set to leave the club this summer. They will leave as free agents. They both play as holding midfielder and hence their departure will leave a void in the squad. Hence, it will require a proper replacement in this summer itself.
Gunners are set for a busy summer transfer window. Along with midfielder, they want to sign striker, winger and a backup keeper as well. Hence, they will need to plan wisely and spend accordingly. As of now, they have 2 midfielders on their radar.
Arsenal have 2 holding midfielder on their radar
According to The Metro, Gunners hold interest in both Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich and Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad. Both players are expected to be available in the market and hence the North London club can sign them.
Firstly, Zubimendi has been long-term target of Arsenal. They tried to sign him last summer but the Spaniard was not ready to leave Spain. But, the player is said to be open to move this time. Gunners will need to pay €60 million to Sociedad which is his release clause.
Joshua Kimmich has been key player for Bayern since the last 10 seasons. He has played as both right-back and holding midfielder for the German giants. But, it is looking like the player might end up leaving the club this summer.
Kimmich will be out of contract at the end of the season. Bayern are finding it hard to tie him to new contract due to wage demands. Hence, Arsenal are on alert to sign him as a free agent. This deal will help them to go in strongly for other important positions on the pitch.
