Arsenal have made a huge decision regarding the stay of their star attacker Leandro Trossard. The Belgian was brought into the squad two seasons back from Brighton. Since his arrival, Trossard has become a key squad player for the Gunners.
He wasn’t a regular starter in his first season at London. But Trossard had to play some crucial games due to the absence of injured Gabriel Matinelli in the left side last season. This campaign also, the 29-year-old had to come in the rescue for the team. As Trossard had to play in the position of a injured Martin Odegaard.
The Belgian’s stats as a squad player are pretty decent. Being featured in more than 80 games with the Gunners, Trossard has been involved in 30+ goals and assists. So far this season, Leandro Trossard has already started in 7 Premier League games and registered 2 goals.
Arsenal to renew Leandro Trossard contract amidst Saudi links
However, Trossard, who will be turning 30 next month, his current contract at Arsenal ends in the summer of 2027. And during the whole summer the Belgian forward was linked with a move away from the Emirates. As Saudi side Al Ittihad wanted to sign Trossard on a year long loan deal. So, it was speculated that the Gunners wouldn’t offer a new deal to him.
But Arsenal were never eager to hear offers for Leandro Trossard. As Mikle Arteta sees him as a key component for his side. Ittihad are still trying to contact with the club’s camp for him. They even offered a permanent deal worth of £29 million for the Belgian attacker.
That is why Arsenal have made a big decision regarding the contract of the Belgian attacker. As per the reports of Football.London, the Gunners are set to offer a new contract to Leandro Trossard to extend his stay. However, it is speculated that the deal on the offer will not be lengthened enough.
