Arsenal are in talks with their top target’s camp for January transfer. The questioned star is said to be made available for transfer this month by his current club and can cost around £80 million.
Gunners are in desperate need to sign some attacking players this month. They are targetting wingers and strikers at the moment. The North London club already have some names on their radar. However, it is often too hard to make major signings in the January window.
Arsenal in talks with Matheus Cunha’s camp
Cunha has been a long term target of the North London club. He was being monitored from the past 2 seasons and Gunners have finally decided to step up their process. However, it will be very hard for them to land the Brazilian this month.
Cunha has 10 goals and 4 assists in 20 Premier League games this season. He is the main superstar of Wolves who are unwilling to part ways with him. They are even keen to extend his contract in order to make him untouchable.
However, Gunners still have a chance to sign him as Ben Jacobs has reported that Cunha is yet to sign new contract. He said that verbal agreement has been reached but there are discussions going on about release clause.
The Brazilian has been offered pay-rise along with long-term contract. Wolves will be informed about the player’s wish of moving away in future for right deal. Despite all these discussions, the new contract signing is yet to be completed.
Jacobs also reported that Gunners have held talks with Cunha’s camp. He added that these talks were still at informal stage. Wolves are keen to keep him until the end of season and hence will only allow the Brazilian to leave for £80 million.
Arsenal will hope to sign Cunha this month itself as they are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements. The Brazilian can be a major upgrade upon Martinelli and Trossard in wide attacking position. In addition, he can even claim the striker position at North London.
