Arsenal have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Bundesliga ace this summer. The player is very young and having a superb season. Lastly, he is surely going to be available in the summer market.
The star in question here is Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund. He is 20 years old English winger who has been in Germany since a very young age. He started at academy level for Dortmund and is now their regular starter.
Gittens has impressed everyone with his steller performances this season. He has scored 12 goals and picked 3 assists in 45 games. But, Dortmund are really struggling right now and will miss UCL next season. Hence, many of their key players can be seen moving away in summer.
Arsenal join Chelsea in the race for Gittens
Chelsea have been long-term admirers of Jamie Gittens. They view the 20 year old as an ideal fit. Firstly, he is young and has proven himself on the top level. In addition, he can play on the left, right and in middle which will make him a key asset.
According to TBR Football, Arsenal have now joined the race for Gittens. The 20 year old is open to join any of the london clubs this summer. Hence, Chelsea will view this as a blow as Gunners are already on the verge of qualifying for the UCL next season.
Arsenal are planning to sign an upgrade on left wing position. Gittens can replace under performing Gabriel Martinelli from the starting lineup. In addition, he can serve as backup for both Saka and Odegaard when required.
Chelsea will be unwilling to give up on Gittens without a fit. This battle between the london rivals may be beneficial for Dortmund. The German giants can agree the deal with the highest bidder as they are keen to demand as high as €100 million for the young Englishman.
