Arsenal in the race to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla

Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the situation around Sevilla’s Jules Kounde. The Spanish club have been impressive in La Liga sitting at 4th place, three points behind Real Madrid and nine points behind current leaders, Atletico Madrid.

Los Nervionenses have made a significant decision to lower the asking price for him. However, Manchester United are also in the race to sign him. His current market value would be around £50 million and this might attract the attention of the big names.

The 22-year-old center-back has been under the scanner of many big-name clubs as he even scored a brilliant goal in the 2-0 first leg Copa del Rey win over FC Barcelona. Additionally, his contract will only expire on June 30, 2024.

Arsenal really need a defender like Jules Kounde

The Gunners are struggling in the Premier League after a dream start in the initial few matches. However, the lack of quality in the defensive department has proved costly at times. They currently sit 10th.

Whereas, the Seville club are in the race for the Champions League qualification behind the big three in the La Liga. They would not be making this an easy transfer for Kounde to London or Manchester. However, the French international has made Premier League his apparent next destination.

Sevilla want Davinson Sanchez to replace Kounde if he leaves for Arsenal

They are also considering a transfer of Davinson Sanchez from Tottenham Hotspur. Thus, Kounde joining the Red part of London would make things difficult for their Northern rivals, Spurs.

As per El Gol digital, the current Europa League winners have reportedly rejected the bid from Manchester City for around £55 million. Thus, it seems the FA Cup winners would have to cough up more money for the defender.
