Arsenal joined by arch rivals in the race for their top target

Arsenal have been joined by their arch rivals in the race to sign their top target. Gunners are keen to land the player this summer after monitoring him from very long time.

The star in question here is Matheus Cunha of Wolves. The 25 year old has been superb this season and has attracted top clubs from whole Europe. He has scored 13 goals and picked 4 assists in 26 games this season. Despite Wolves having a bad season, Cunha has performed well on regular basis.

Arsenal have been linked with Cunha since a very long time. Earlier, it was reported that they have been monitoring him since he first joined Wolves. The North London club were said to make an offer to sign him in January but it was never being made.

Cunha recently signed new contract with Wolves extending his stay until 2029. But, he now has £62.5 million release clause in his contract. The clause will be activated from this summer and Wolves will want it to be paid fully by any interested club.

Arsenal are very likely to make some big signing in final third. Hence, it will not come as a surprise if they once again decide to go after Cunha. But, this time they will be joined by their arch rivals who are ready to meet the release clause.
