Arsenal will be one unstoppable force if they sign Darwin Nunez in the next transfer window. Former Gunners striker Jeremie Aliadiere has urged Mike Arteta to put up a bid for the Uruguayan striker to make his way to the Emirates stadium in January.
The North London giants need a dedicated striker in their squad. Kai Havertz plays the role of a false no.9 for the team. The team’s scouting unit has set their radar on a forward player who can fit in the no.9 role of the Gunners.
Once part of the ‘Invincibles’ squad of Arsenal, Jeremie Aliadiere believes that Liverpool star Darwin Nunez might be the answer. While speaking with Football 365 the former French forward said that Nunez has all the qualities of a complete striker.
He thinks that Kai Havertz is an amazing player but does not fit the role of a striker. The team’s attacking system has managed with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus taking charge. In the interview, Jeremie said-
“Havertz is doing a fantastic job at Arsenal but he is not a dedicated striker”.
The former Gunner has appreciated Gabriel Jesus and Martinelli who have been clinical in Arsenal’s attack. He also spoke about Bukayo Saka’s brilliant form and contributions to the Gunners this season.
Darwin Nunez to Arsenal?
The Uruguayan striker has been a clinical part of Liverpool ever since his arrival from the Benfica in 2022 at a fee of 83 million euros. He has recently dipped in form for the Reds and there are chances that he might make a move from the club.
Nunez has scored 36 goals in 116 appearances for Liverpool. He has been decent this season as he has scored 5 goals across all competitions this season. The Red’s boss Arne Slot has set a pace for the team in which Nunez has played an important part.
There are crucial matches lined up for Liverpool as the international break is now over. They play against two big giants, Real Madrid and Manchester City, in the Champions League and Premier League. Diogo Jota is expected to be back till January so Nunez will be a first choice.
Darwin does raise questions about his finish qualities. The Uruguayan has been know for missing easy chances and tap in. He has scored impressive goals to balance out the tally. Liverpool will not easily part ways with the forward as there is still a lot of potential in him.
Arsenal has their eyes set on plenty of attack options in the January transfer window. Viktor Gyokeres is the club’s primary target early next year. Jeremie Aliadiere’s interest in Arsenal signing Nunez has sparked the club’s movement for the 25-year-old.
Premier League action resumes after the international break
The international break is over and all the clubs will continue their league action. These teams will get back into fighting mode as they clash against each other for points. The scene in the Premier League is intense as the competition is only getting tougher.
Liverpool are the table toppers as they lead the chart with 28 points. They have had a brilliant start to their season under the new manager Arne Slot. The Reds have only lost one game in the Premier League and stay unbeaten across all competitions.
Arsenal is one team that needs to get back in form as soon as possible. They have recently stumbled in form as they have come from some disappointing defeats. They will look to secure three points against Nottingham Forest to get back in the title contention.
The fans will be happy as there is no international break till March. There has been a nasty record of players getting injured in this break. The club leagues are back and the teams will contest their hands on silverware.
