Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has asked Gunners board to go after one position in particular as soon as possible. He thinks that despite the great result against Man City, Gunners still need to improve that one position.
Gunners defeated Man City at their home with an amazing 5-1 scoreline. Mikel Arteta outclassed his tutor Pep Guardiola to secure all 3 important points. Five different players scored for Gunners to mark the statement win at Emirates.
Despite winning 5-1, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry thinks that Gunners still lack spark in the squad. He thinks that the board needs to fix the problem as soon as possible. The January window will end in just a few hours so the North London club has very less time to fulfill Henry’s wish.
Thierry Henry wants Arsenal board to sign a striker
Henry wants the Arsenal board to sign a striker as soon as possible. He thinks its a much needed signing despite Gunners scoring 5 goals against City. He has justified his statements with valid points.
“There’s one thing I wanted to mention as an Arsenal man. Arsenal fans are asking for a number nine for two years – four transfer windows. Just because you win 5-1 doesn’t mean you don’t need one” – Henry speaking to Sky Sports.
“You can’t be calling for a No. 9 when you struggle to score, then forget about it when you do. Sometimes in January, you don’t get the player you want, so you wait for the summer – but we haven’t done that either” – Henry questioning Arsenal’s transfer policy.
Henry was later asked by Jamie Carragher if Arsenal need to sign striker right now. Henry replied by saying even if it happens it will not help them to catch Liverpool who are way ahead in points table and are headed to lift the Premier League target.
