Arsenal legend Ian Wright has warned the North London club about contract situation of three important stars. He has urged the club to take decisive action as soon as possible.
The North London club have one of the best squads in Europe. They have players like Saliba and Saka who are best in their respective positions. Mikel Arteta has done fantastic job in putting some best players in the world together.
Gunners are back where they belong that is in Champions League and competing for Premier League title. They have a great squad but Ian Wright has told Gunners to stay aware or else the situation may be very bad for the club.
Ian Wright urges Arsenal to stay aware
Ian Wright has told Gunners to stay aware about contract situation of Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and Bukayo Saka. All of these three stars are key players and regular starters for Mikel Arteta.
“We have to start thinking about Gabriel Magalhaes, Saliba and Saka. After this season, they have got two years left. Even if Arsenal say to you, ‘listen we want to start talking to you’, with a World Cup coming, managers and agents are going to say, ‘we just want to focus on our game now, trying to make sure we are in great form for the World Cup” – Wright speaking about contract situation.
The World Cup will be in the summer of 2026 after which all these three players will have one year left on their contract. This situation is worrying Wright who thinks this can end badly if not sorted properly.
“Those guys are going to be into the last year. We’re going to have a situation like Liverpool have got now. How long before their management team say, ‘we need to see the ambition of this club’? Do any of those players want to end up not winning anything because the way it’s going at the moment” – Wright comparing situation with Liverpool.
The Reds were on the verge of losing three senior players for free at the end of the season. Fortunately, the situation has been positive from Salah and Van Dijk’s side. However, Trent Alexander Arnold is still heavily linked with exit. Wright’s comments are as per Arsenal News Channel.
