Despite playing so well, Newcastle United have failed to qualify for Champions League. This has resulted in Isak wanting to move away in summer. He is currently being looked upon by multiple clubs and Arsenal and Liverpool are being looked upon as front-runners in the race.

The Magpies are keen to keep Isak and are offering him a new contract. The talks already fell eariler but Newcastle are unwilling to give up. They are said to re-enter the talks and tie Isak down to a long-term contract. But, the player wants his certain demands to be fulfilled.

Football Transfers have reported that Isak wants a release clause to be inserted in his new contract. This may no go well with Newcastle who are keen to keep the release clause out of question. This helps them to demand a world-class fee and earlier we all saw the example. The Magpies wanted £150 million of Isak in the upcoming summer window.

Liverpool lead the race to sign Isak over Arsenal

The report further states that the Reds have the lead over Gunners to land Isak. The North London club are said to be focused to bring in Benjamin Sesko. This may pave Isak’s path to the Anfield stadium.

Gunners also need to improve plenty other positions in summer. Hence, they will opt to spend wisely and drop Isak from their plans. On the other hand, Liverpool will enter the market with striker as their top priority and can be seen spending big on that position.
