Gunners are linked with many players over the recent months. They were heavily linked with Zubimendi but the Spaniard is not willing to move to England. The North London club has now being linked with Italian player who first appeared on their radar in 2019.

Arsenal linked with Italian midfielder

The Italian player in question here Lorenzo Pellegrini of AS Roma. The 28 year old is club captain for the Serie A side. He has so far played 300 games for Roma and has also played 37 games for Italy national team.

Pellegrini has fallen down the pecking order despite the fact that he is club captain. This has resulted in fueling his move away from Italian capital. The 28 year old can play anywhere in the midfield which makes him key asset for any club.

Pellegrini can be a very good addition to Gunners. He is highly experienced and can be a perfect replacement for Partey and Jorginho. In addition, he can be a quality backup for both Rice and Odegaard. Lastly, he can also play on left flank which will make him a valuable player for Mikel Arteta.

However, Arsenal have a heavy competition from Serie A gaints. Corriere Della Sera have reported that Inter Milan are keen to sign Pellegrini. Lastly, the Italian has played in Italy throughout his career which gives Inter the lead in the race.
