Arsenal and Liverpool interested in a January move for Yves Bissouma

Bissouma Liverpool target?

According to the reports, Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in a January move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma. It is believed that any bids of £20-30 million region would tempt Brighton to let their tenacious player go away.

Bissouma is valued at £11.7 million according to transfermarkt, both Arsenal and Liverpool need to pay twice of his value in January.

The 24-year-old Bissouma has scored 1 goal in 9 games for Brighton in Premier League this season. The Malian international is currently taking massive 1.6 shots per game from midfield to compare Aubameyang is only taking 1.8 shots a game. The central midfielder is currently making 47.7 passes per game at a 85.5% success rate while pinging 3 long balls and making 1.3 dribbles per game.

Arsenal Liverpool in for Yves Bissouma

But it is his defensive stats that stand out for me. The tenacious midfielder is putting an average of 4.2 tackle’s and interceptions per game the only nearest player in the Arsenal squad is Dani Ceballos with 3.2 and that too only 6 apps(3 starts).

Also winning an aerial duel per game, very hard presser and tackler of the ball. He likes to dribble and do layoffs or one-touch passes.

He is very suitable to Mikel Arteta’s philosophy of working hard and giving nothing away. He is versatile, can fill a defensive hole or sitting centre-back role. But the problem is Mikel already has that type of player in Thomas Partey. Bissouma is just the younger alternative to who they bought in Partey.

For Liverpool, he could prove out to be decent because of his versatility of playing in defensive midfielder or central defending role. The Reds are struggling with many key player’s injuries in the midfield and defence area. He will very good rotational addition at the injury-ridden Anfield camp in January transfer window.
