Arsenal need to wait longer to sign 18 year old talent

Arsenal need to wait longer in order to sign their 18 year old target. The young talent is also looked upon by Man City along with some other top clubs.

The January transfer window will end in just couple days. The rumours and acitivity has spiked up and many deals are getting completed. But, Gunners are still to advance in any deal yet. They made only one offer for Ollie Watkins which was rejected by Aston Villa.

Amidst this search for attackers, the North London club are also showing interest in midfielders. They were in strong talks with 18 year old star and were joined by their rivals Man City as well. But, both clubs seem to be missing out on the player this month.

Arsenal & Man City need to wait longer for 18 year old midfielder

The star in question here is Sverre Nypan who plays for Rosenborg. The Norway youth international has been superb in the 2024 season. He ended the season with 8 goals and 7 assists in 28 games. This resulted in him getting linked to top clubs from England.

Nypan was recently in England to have talks with both Arsenal and City. Gunners are planning to directly bring him in the first team squad. On the other hand, City want to send him to Girona (owned by City group) and later bring him to Manchester.

Gunners were confident that they have upper hand in pursuit of Nypan. But, David Ornstein has reported that the 18 year will stay at Rosenborg until summer. He will now have more time to think about which team to join and we can also see other clubs joining in summer.

Arsenal are also expected to sign Martin Zubimendi in summer. Their two current midfielders – Partey and Jorginho are set to leave as free agents. Mikel Arteta will have a major task of midfield transition loading in front of him.
