Arsenal news: Romano shares key update about striker search

Arsenal are almost surely going to land a new striker this summer. They have plenty big names on their radar. Fabrizio Romano has now shared key updates about their plans.

Gunners were keen to sign a striker in summer 2024 itself. They have their sights set on Benjamin Sesko. But, the 21 year rejected the offer and instead signed extension with RB Leipzig. Hence, the North London club had to end their pursuit of striker.

Due to not signing a striker, Mikel Arteta had to face many difficulties this season. He has now learned the fact that in order to win major titles, you need a clinical striker in your squad. The North London club are prepared to back the manager.

Gunners tried to sign a striker in January but once again failed to do so. They were keen to sign Ollie Watkins but the player was made unavailable by Aston Villa. Hence, it all comes down to summer window now.

Arsenal have Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko as their top priority. However, it will prove very hard to lure Isak away from Newcastle United. The Magpies have made it clear that it will need a British record fee to snatch Isak away from them.

Can Arsenal finally sign Benjamin Sesko?

Despite failing to land Sesko earlier, Gunners are still keen to sign him this year. The 21 year old has continued his top form and has recently reached 100 goal mark in his career. It is said that he will be open to move to bigger club this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Gunners are set to do something very big, important and massive this summer. He added that Sesko is the club’s top candidate for striker position and the Gunners are in active contact.

Sesko can be a very good addition to Arsenal squad. He is far younger than Isak and will also cost far less. In addition, he can be the long-term investment for the club. Lastly, the Slovenian striker also has interest from Chelsea.
