Jakub Kiwior has been unable to receive sufficient game time at Arsenal this season. This resulted in him being linked with loan move in January. But, Gunners are only interested to sell him permanently.
Kiwior joined Arsenal in January 2023 from Spezia. In his first full season, he played 30 matches across different positions. He was really good and helped Arsenal whenever needed.
The Polish defender was hoping more action this season, but it has not been the case. He has played only 9 matches this season and has only started in 2 of those. This has resulted in him playing for only 229 minutes so far this season.
Kiwior is only 24 years old and deserves to play regularly. Hence he was being linked with move away from Arsenal in january. It was reported that many Italian clubs are keen to sign him on loan.
Arsenal unwilling to send Jakub Kiwior on loan
Gunners still view the 24 year old as an important player in their squad. Mikel Arteta likes to have good squad depth so that he is prepared for tough times caused due to injuries. Kiwior can play as centre back and as left back which makes him key asset for any club.
But, Gunners will still have to respect the player’s decision and let him leave to play regularly. But as per Calcio Napoli, they will only let the defender leave permanently and have already rejected loan moves.
As of now Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan are keen to sign the Polish defender. They would have loved the idea of signing him on loan and assess his progress before handing a long term contract. But, now Arsenal’s stance will complicate things.
Lastly, Gunners should be just fine without Kiwior. They already have very good squad depth especially at the back. Their priority should be to improve attack and hence money earned from selling Kiwior will be very important for them moving forward.
